I creating this piece, based off a 5x5” study I did over a decade ago, that was based off a found photo that’s now been (of course) lost. 

My technique on this is rooted in my love of drawing- combining watercolour pencils and acrylic washes to create a dreamy, smoky and slightly out of focus image.

This is my biggest fire piece to date, and was used to create a custom 18x9.5” vinyl wallpaper for a new restaurant concept Sherwood Park, Alberta, called, of course, Pyro.
